To support the smooth running of educational activities in the Mathematics Department of FMIPA UI, it is necessary to provide adequate facilities and infrastructure. The Mathematics Department of FMIPA UI has an educational laboratory, research laboratory and library/reading room.
Laboratory
Until 2011, the Department of Mathematics had 5 computing laboratory rooms with 90 PCs & workstations. All laboratory rooms are connected to LAN & WAN facilities that can access the internet. Each PC & workstation is equipped with supporting software such as: Matlab, maple, Lingo, Visual Basic, Visual/Borland C++, Delphi, Oracle, Java, SAS, SPSS, Splus, and others.
The computers in this computing lab are also connected to 2 servers with different domains, namely Linux and Windows NT. In addition, the Mathematics Department also has a lab with 16 SUN workstations.
In mid-2011, a laboratory with 50 PCs donated by alumni of the Mathematics Department was inaugurated, which is used for basic course practicums. Currently, the laboratory can be used by regular undergraduate students and regular postgraduate students from 8 am to 5 pm.
Universitas Indonesia has a central library which is an integrated system that offers access to collections provided such as: book collections, magazine collections, non-book collections, electronic article collections, electronic book collections and works produced by the academic community of Universitas Indonesia. The university library subscribes to electronic books and electronic articles that allow every UI student to access through the portal http://www.lib.ui.ac.id/. While FMIPA UI provides a computer room to access through the portal http://www.sci.ui.ac.id/.
In addition, Mathematics students are facilitated with 5 Research Laboratories equipped with a reading room that has more than 8000 book collections, 19 international journals, 5 national journals. Not to forget the collection of theses produced by students of the Mathematics Department since the first graduates until now. This reading room is also equipped with an e-library and documentation services using the Computerized Documentation Service/Integrated Set of Information System (CDS/ISIS).
