FMIPA UI Holds GeoGebra Training for 2-Dimensional Analytical Geometry for High School Teachers in Depok

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, University of Indonesia (FMIPA UI) through the Department of Mathematics provides training and education to high school teachers in Depok regarding the application of software GeoGebra untuk Geometri Analitik Dimensi 2, pada hari Jumat 29 Juli 2022 secara daring melalui platform Zoom. Kegiatan tersebut merupakan implementasi dari program pengabdian masyarakat (pengmas). Pada pelatihan tersebut, hadir juga beberapa peserta dari SMA Tangerang.

This community service program is a manifestation of the concern of the Mathematics Department of FMIPA UI in implementing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, namely community service. The purpose of implementing this community service is so that teachers can more easily and quickly provide geometric illustrations interactively, so that students can immediately see the changes that occur when a parameter is changed. Thus, it is hoped that teachers can also check the answers obtained by students more efficiently → so that students can understand geometric problems more easily.

GeoGebra is one of the software education in the field of Mathematics. This program is open platform which can run on Android-based devices, iOS-based devices, and Windows-based devices. In addition, Geogebra can also be accessed online. web-based.

GeoGebra program can be used to solve problems in Calculus, Geometry and Statistics. In this training, GeoGebra Team of Mathematics Department FMIPA UI provides GeoGebra training for high school teachers in Depok. The training material is focused on the use of GeoGebra in solving Analytical Geometry problems in 2-dimensional space.

The training contains an explanation of the theory of geometric objects in 2-dimensional space (such as lines, circles, and circular beams), delivered by Dr. Hengki Tasman. Several examples of problems are given and solved analytically and by simulation. Participants are also given several geometric problems that must be solved analytically and by simulation.

The lecturers involved as resource persons are Dra. Siti Aminah, M.Kom., Dra. Nora Hariadi, M.Sc., Dr. Rahmi Rusin, Dr. Bevina D. Handari, Prof. Dr. Alhadi Bustamam, Dr. Denny Riama Silaban, and Dr. Zuherman Rustam. This training also involved students of the Masters and Bachelors of Mathematics study programs, namely Hendrico Yehezky Nata Atmadja, Muhammad Daffa, Hanif Pramudya, Rafi Alvanzah, and Owen Mulianto.

The Department of Mathematics plans to hold community service again in the future. The community service that will be held later is advanced training on GeoGebra for Analytical Geometry in Dimension 3.
